"I've never been to the Academy Awards, but I think it this is what it might feel like!" said an excited Merge right after the medal ceremony. May 24, 2004 - Merge quoted in Canada's Macleans Magazine

As Canada prepares to go to the polls in its first federal election since 2000, a new political party has come to the forefront. The Conservative Party of Canada, a merger between the old Progressive Conservative and Canadian Alliance parties, is led by the relatively unknown Stephen Harper. Macleans Magazine came to Merge to ask for her thoughts on Stephen Harper's communication skills, particularly as compared to when he first entered the political leadership arena.

In February 2006, Merge will be delivering the opening keynote titled The Five Secrets of Today's Most Successful Leaders at IABC's annual Leadership Institute in Charlotte NC.


November 1, 2004 - Merge accepts the 2004 Alan G. Ross Award for Writing Excellence in Ottawa

On November 26, Merge will be accepting this prestigious award in a ceremony at the Ottawa Congress Centre for her article titled Employee Retention and Turnover: The Real Reasons Employees Stay or Go. The Financial Management Institute of Canada awards this prize annually to recognize the best article in the association's respected publication, the fmi journal. In order to be considered for the award, the article must address an area of concern to public sector financial managers and present thoughtful, well-researched perspectives on the issue covered.


March 15, 2004 - Merge's latest book project

Why does the lobster cast off its shell? In the fall of 2003, Merge was invited to participate in a unique book collaboration with thirteen other authors. The result: the opening chapter Why Does the Lobster Cast Off Its Shell in the acclaimed series titled Expert Women Who Speak ... Speak Out.
